Supersize Nest Project

Pop up Installation @ Festivals & Schools
For growing Somatic Literacy and Nature Connection

Our Supersize Nest Project began as a collaboration with Moonee Valley Sustainability and Maribyrnong River and Waterways Association at the Moonee Valley Festival in February 2024. It is now being used as a pop-up installation at other events and in schools and engages people of all ages.

In this hand-crafted Supersize Nest we facilitate nature-based mandala-making for mobilising inter-generational action on climate and care for Country. It draws on the known therapeutic benefits of somatic, arts-based, nature connection strategies to support wellbeing whilst encouraging achievable personal climate action and care for Country.

Climate change is an existential threat to our communities, but people have become overwhelmed and are finding it hard to act. Art, with its therapeutic benefits, is a potent tool in engaging people to understand and act on climate. We have created a Supersize Nest artwork as an instrument to draw in community for deeper conversations about climate anxiety and climate actions and speak to the therapeutic benefits of somatic, arts-based nature connection.
